According to a report in Reuters Nancy Pelosi called Hugo Chavez a thug:

"Hugo Chavez fancies himself a modern day Simon Bolivar but all he is an everyday thug," House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said at a news conference, referring to Chavez' comments in a U.N. General Assembly speech on Wednesday."

I have been searching for this article after it was mentioned to me at breakfast of Hurricane Rita evacuees this morning. Are they sending Bush to Crawford for five weeks thinking that at least for 35 days he can keep at least one foot out of his mouth?

Is it just a coincidence that SIX Marine snipers in ONE unit were killed at the same time; or does it appear that the insurgents are getting some damn good intelligence?

Is it just me or does it seem strange that the 14 Marines that were blown up today along the Syria-Iraq border were in a "lightly armored" amphibious vehicle "normally used for moving troops from ship to shore". Uh, am I missing something here?  Is the JFK run aground somewhere between Damascus and Baghdad and they haven't mentioned that to us?
