What are they afraid of?

Mon Oct 23, 2006 at 06:26:35 AM PDT

I wonder why Democrats aren't calling the republicans on there constant talking point, that "If the Dems take back the House and or the Senate the Democrats will begin all sorts of investigations including Impeaching the President".
The Republicans use this as a a ralling call to their base. They clearly infer this a harbinger of terrible things to come if they lose the Majority this Nov 7th.
I am dismayed, that the  Dems haven't picked up on, the obvious confession in this refrain and call them on it. I have been waiting and waiting to hear the pundits say such obvious jems as "What are the republicans worried about? what have you got to hide" or "Honest people don't fear investigations they look forward to them!" these are just two I'm sure you kossacks have many more gems to offer.

  •  Tag Notes: (0+ / 0-)

Tag guidelines instruct that when names are used both the first and last names should be included and in cases like the George Bushes - the middle initials are essential.  (Tag fixed for this diary)

Please do not enter "bush" or "Bush" or "President Bush" as a tag.

The correct tag for the current president is "George W. Bush."

The following comments may or may not apply to this particular diary:

Titles are NOT used since they can change over time and in this case there are two men with the title "President Bush" and that term will not apply to the current president after 2008 while tags live on.

The rules also ask people to use existing tags and do not use "cutesy tags".
We are trying to clean up about 30629 tags used only ONE time.  205 NEW tags - never used before were created Sunday.  Each of those diaries now has to be opened and read and most probably, those new tags will all be deleted.    We have to do this by individually editing diaries because until we look at them, we don't know for sure which Bush they refer to.

We are working on a program that will convert incorrect tags to correct ones, but that is hard when just the last name is given and there can be more than one person with that last name.

A list of the most used tags (many of which we are still cleaning up, like the “bush” tags) can be found here:

If you have TU – consider spending half an hour a couple of times a week fixing diaries with the “bush” tag.  Find them here:
